Final Game Rules

For 4 to 6 Players

Contents: 4 Stacks of Cards (Humming, Trivia, Acting, Drawing), a Die, an Hour-Glass Timer, 2 Pads, 2 Pencils

Object: To answer the questions or guess what is your teammate is humming, acting, or drawing within the amount of time given (1 minute). If you answer the questions correctly, you will get points based on the difficultly of the question. The first team who gets to 21 wins the game.

Setup: To setup for this game, put the 4 four decks of cards in the middle of the table. Players should divide into two teams. This game is designed to be adults versus children. However, you may divide the teams differently if needed. Each team gets a pad of paper and a pencil.

Game Play: Each team will roll the die and the team with the highest roll goes first. The game is played by each team taking alternating turns. The team will roll the die. Rolling a number one through four indicates a specific deck of cards to play. The numbers are indicated on each deck. For example, if Team A rolls a 1, then there task will be from the Trivia deck. Rolling a number 5 means your team loses a turn. Rolling a number 6 means your team gets to choose which category they want.

Trivia Cards: When it is your team’s turn to answer a question, the other team will read the question allowed to you. The trivia question may be discussed amongst the team’s players.

Drawing Cards: When drawing, you are not allowed to draw letters or numbers. The person drawing is also not allowed to speak. As an extra challenge, some cards are noted that you will have to draw with your eyes closed.

Acting: The teammate acting out the cards is not aloud to speak or have the use of props.

Humming: One teammate will hum the directed song on the card and other member/s will guess the song.

Scoring: Point values are indicated on each specific card, ranging from 1 to 3. If you perform the card correctly, you receive the allotted amount of points. The first team to 21 wins! If the time runs out before you have answered the question or completed the task, you will not receive points for that round.

Game Variations: When playing in teams of adults versus children, the children (or the younger generation) should be answering the questions and performing the tasks from the 1990’s-2009 category. The older generation should be answering questions and performing the tasks from the 1950’s-1980’s category. If you have grouped your teams differently, when you are answering the questions or performing a task, roll the die again each round. If you roll an even number, you will use the 1950’s-1990’s category and if you roll an odd number, you will use the 1990’s-2009 category. This way, the game will stay fair and everyone will have an equal chance of winning.

Group Cards/Challenge Cards: There are three of these cards in three of the decks (Drawing, Humming, and Acting). When a player comes across one of these cards, both teams get the opportunity to play. The team who gets the correct answer the fastest will win the points. The group cards/challenge cards are worth five points.

Brittany Kelly - Brittany is a budding Junior at Rutgers, majoring in Statistics, who has evolved into a true wrecking force behind Photoshop. Her talent with creating game concepts has finally accumulated into Generation Genius. Brittany strives toward mastering risk management and analysis with her expertise in Statistics serving as an excellent starting block. Other accolades include captain of this current project, first-team all boad game for the second consecutive project and honorable mention for being a charming young lady.

Robby Palermo - Robby is currently enjoying his sophomore year at Rutgers, with high hopes to major in Psychology. His near super senses have developed thanks to his immense appreciation for his major and his drive for the "sixth sense" of game board design. The refining of Generation Genius' rules can be attributed to Robby as well. While his expertise in humming was utilized during the development of this game, Robby earned first place in last month's USA Humming Competitions held in Miami, Florida.

Joe Benedetto - Joe is progressing through his junior year at Rutgers with exceptional swiftness. While majoring in Communications, Joe is currently contemplating turning pro in board game design and pursuing that career into Europe. His contributions include the drawing questions within Generation Genius and the advancement of team morale. Joe's passion for the group is obvious every Wednesday and the fervor at which the cohesive squad works has impacted him in a large way.

Maurizio Mollano - Maurizio is a whiz kid in sciences, hoping to major in Physics and a new contributor to the unit. His selection out of thousands of qualified candidates for his current position with Generation Genius, is only one of his many accolades to date. While early in the project development phase, building off of team member Brittany's proposal, Maurizio developed the fan friendly name for the game. His aspirations to be the first man to play a board game on the moon will hopefully become a reality in the near future as well.

Rules

A 30 second timer is needed for game play, used each turn to provide some excitement while still limiting the players from stalling.

There will be four categories of cards: questions, singing/humming, drawing, and charades, with 40 cards per topic.

There also will be two separate sets of questions for both adults and children, respectively. The adult questions will generally be harder and/or more complex.

Specifically, for the drawing stack of cards, the adult's cards should be more detailed than the children's.

Parent cards will be drawn from the 1960's through the 1980's. Kid questions will be from the later 90's to current day.

While there are four categories of questioning, we added two new elements. Rolling a die before each turn will indicate what category you have selected.

6. Lose a Turn
As you can see, rolling a 5 enables the individual or team to choose which category, meanwhile rolling a 6 causes the abrupt end to that turn.

-Questions will be answered together, however the individual who rolled the die in the beginning of the turn is the selected artist, singer and/or actor. This person is the only one who can actively partake in the official submission of answers. The team should use this individual as mediator and the selection of this person should change every round.

-Scoring: Each round is worth a predetermined amount of points on the scale from 1 to 3, based on difficulty of the question. Easy questions will be valued at 1 point, somewhat challenging questions will be worth 2 points and the most difficult questions will be worth 3 points. There is also a unique twist added to the game. These are the challenge cards, which are worth 5 points. A challenge card is where both teams will be given the same question/scenario and the first to finish with the correct answer wins the points.

- There are four elements to this game:

- The questions will be different for he parents then the children.

- The questions will be from the 60's to the 80's

- The questions for the children will be from around 1990-2009

- The questions may be answered together, while one person acts, draws, or sings and the rest of your team will guess.

- Each team may have between 2 to 4 players for best play.

- There will also be a few cards in the deck where both teams will be able to play.
